On garde sans remords ce qu'on acquiert sans crime
La biographie de Barbet Schroeder est assez intéressante. Petit-fils du psychiatre et collectionneur d'art allemand Hans Prinzhorn, il grandit à l'étranger, puis fit ses études en France. Il débuta sa carrière aux Cahiers du cinéma et travailla avec Jean-Luc Godard ou bien Éric Rohmer. Il tourna durant les années 1970 des films avec sa compagne Bulle Ogier puis partit aux États-Unis, où il rencontra Charles Bukowski, qui lui écrivit le scénario de Barfly. Il attrapa ensuite le train des thrillers durant les années 1990, et réalisa alors des petits bijoux comme Le mystère Von Bülow, J.F. partagerait appartement ou bien Kiss of death. De retour en France, il revint à ses premières amours, lui à qui l'on devait une biographie d'Amin Dada,
