Ahogy megkezdik az ereszkedést Budapest felé, Erik gyomrában felkavarodik a reggeli tonhalas szendvics. A karfára szorít, ujjai elfehérednek. Mindig is utált repülni, de egy ideje csak így lehet Magyarország területére lépni.

Kíváncsisága felülkerekedik rajta: kipillant az ablakon, hátha elcsípi egy kertpiramis borsózöld tömbjét vagy a Csepelen emelt hegymagas szélkerék suhanó lapátját. Csalódnia kell, a köd, melyről a kapitány egy órája makogott, hamuként telepszik a városra, a legutolsó részletet is elfátyolozza.

Erik csontjai belerázkódnak a landolásba, a kerekek csikorogva préselődnek az aszfaltnak. Kilométernyi vágta után a gép fékez, és Erik vakolatfehér arccal fordul ki az ülésből. Végre megérkezett. A következő öt napban gondolnia se kell repülőkre.
