Film défouloir kitschissime entre glam rock et movida tout entier polarisé sur Frank, sa star transgenre charismatique et l’hallucinante performance de celui qui l’incarne, Tim (MER)CURRY ^^. Bien que bourré de références de toutes sortes, notamment aux films hollywoodiens de monstres souvent détournés ou parodiés (J’aime particulièrement la créature de Frankenstein new look bodybuildée et bronzée sortant d’un cercueil arc en ciel et puis tel King-Kong, faisant l’ascension de la tour RKO avec Frank évanoui), le film est profondément ancré dans les seventies (dimension contestataire et libertaire, paranoïa). Face au couple aseptisé joué par Susan SARANDON et Barry BOSTWICK, Frank apparaît par antithèse comme un vampire sexuel affamé de chair fraîche. Les chansons et même certaines
