Une réunion à huis-clos qui tourne au règlement de comptes: "Festen (1998)" de Thomas VINTERBERG? "Carnage" (2011) de Roman POLANSKI? "Le Prénom (2011)" de Mathieu DELAPORTE et Alexandre de la PATELLIÈRE? "Juste la fin du monde" (2015) de Xavier DOLAN? Tous ces exemples pour montrer que ce dispositif d'origine théâtrale est souvent utilisé au cinéma notamment pour son efficacité dû au respect des unités de lieu, de temps et d'action. "The Party" de Sally POTTER, version noire et corrosive (et noir et blanc!) du film coloré et burlesque de Blake EDWARDS s'inscrit parfaitement dans cette lignée. Son cocktail à base de satire du milieu bobo british fonctionne à l'aide de personnages borderline frisant la caricature mais qui parviennent parfois à faire mouche. La mise en scène est plutôt
