Un gros bébé joueur au visage d'ange aussi corpulent que léger, voilà la fascinante proposition burlesque de Roscoe ARBUCKLE . Ce dernier avait fait d'ailleurs du surnom méprisant qu'il traînait depuis l'enfance "Fatty" (gros lard) son étendard, retournant ainsi le stigmate en sa faveur (exactement comme l'ont fait plus tard d'autres minorités opprimées, tels les noirs avec leur "Black is beautiful").
En 2015 avec la rétrospective "Fatty se déchaîne (1917)" (incluant "Fatty garçon boucher"), on a redécouvert ce grand comique burlesque qui débuta à la Keystone un an avant Charles CHAPLIN et fit découvrir Buster KEATON. Sa carrière fut brisée à la suite d'une accusation de viol et d'homicide dont il fut pourtant reconnu innocent. Mais entretemps, il était devenu le bouc-émissaire de
