Sarah Rees Brennan is Irish and currently lives in Dublin. For a short stint, she lived in New York and became involved with a wide circle of writers who encouraged and supported her, including Holly Black and Cassandra Clare. She has developed a wide audience through her popular blog, mistful.livejournal.com, where she writes movie parodies, book reviews and some stories.

Je tiens à remercier les éditions Hachette Romans et le site Netgalley de m'avoir permis de lire cette préquelle à la série Netflix.
On y retrouve la jeune Samantha qui à seize ans se doute que sa vie pourrait voire même basculer. Elle étudie la magie avec ses tante Hilda et Zelda tout en ayant une vie de lycéenne comme les autres. Sauf que ses jours sont comptés dans le monde normal. Elle va devoir quitter ses amis Susie et Roz ainsi que son petit ami, et c'est difficile pour elle.
Son cousin Ambrose va lui dire de lancer un sort à Harvey pour voir si il est fiable sauf que ce sort va se retourner contre elle.
Un livre lu d'une traite tellement j'ai accroché à l'histoire si captivante, addictive, remplie de suspens et de rebondissements avec des personnages attachants comme dans la série. Hâte de lire la suite.

I would like to thank Hachette Romans and the Netgalley website for allowing me to read this prequel to the Netflix series.
It features the young Samantha who at sixteen years old suspects that her life could even change. She studies magic with her aunts Hilda and Zelda while living the life of a schoolgirl like all the others. Except that her days are numbered in the normal world. She is going to have to leave her friends Susie and Roz and her boyfriend, and it is difficult for her.
Her cousin Ambrose is going to tell her to cast a spell on Harvey to see if he is reliable, except that the spell will turn against her.
A book read in one go, so much so that I hooked into the story which is so captivating, addictive, full of suspense and twists and turns with endearing characters like in the series. Can't wait to read more.
