Sur le front de l'esprit, quand la rumeur abonde,
Les armures d'acier se brisent sous la fronde.
Le stratège aveuglé, dressé comme un grand chêne,
Est abattu soudain par la tempête hautaine.
Mais regarde au fossé, victorieux et humble,
Le souple roseau rit quand tout l'empire tremble !
