Sister Nancy déboule comme une furieuse petite bombe dancehall jetée dans la mêlée. « Go tell your friends that Sister Nancy come again ». Va dire à tes copains que Sister Nancy revient.
En 1981, le titre One Two (à retrouver ici) est son premier succès mais l'explosion à proprement parler se produit avec Bam Bam (ici). Sister Nancy n'a que 19 ans mais annonce déjà la couleur :
« MC is my ambition ».
Je veux être un MC. Comme Yellowman. Qui d'ailleurs offrira sa version de Bam Bam en duo avec Fathead sur Bad Boy Skanking en 1982, en changeant un peu les paroles mais peu importe, l'hommage est là. Et quel hommage! Yellowman, la star des stars qui reprend une chanson de la petite Nancy.
