Entre décembre 1978 et juin 2003, j’ai eu la chance de voir Peter Gabriel cinq fois sur scène.
Il y avait une constante lors de ses concerts : il finissait avec une chanson de son premier album solo, intitulée « Here comes the flood ». Cette chanson, puissamment orchestrée sur la version studio, il nous la chantait seul sur scène, accompagné par son piano.
Lors du dernier concert auquel nous avons assisté, lorsque les lumières de la salle s’éteignirent, annonçant le début du spectacle, je me posai l’habituelle question : par quelle chanson va-t-il débuter son show ? À ma grande surprise, il monta seul sur cette scène circulaire installée au milieu du public et s’installa devant son piano. Puis il nous dit, en français : « On reprend où on s’était arrêté », et commença les premières
