Spirit of Yule
The frost paints the windows, the night's growing still,
A hush in the forest, a breath down the hill.
Candles are burning, their flickering light,
Guiding our hearts through the Mother’s night.
The Season’s wheel’s turning as the year departs,
With evergreen garlands, we open our hearts.
The promise of sunlight, still hidden from view,
Awakens hope for a ray on the morning dew.
[CHORUS]
Light up the log, let it burn bright,
Call back the sun on this sacred night.
Samhain is gone, no fear of a ghoul,
Let us enjoy the Spirit of Yule.
High in the sky passes the Wild Hunt,
We’ll have to endure winter’s blunt,
But this day promises a balance renewed,
An even split between light and darkness pursued.
With wassail and laughter, the cold fades away,
Stories and songs keep the dark at bay.
The cauldron of life holds the seeds of the year,
We welcome the morning with joy and with cheer.
[CHORUS]
Light up the log, let it burn bright,
Call back the sun on this sacred night.
Samhain is gone, no fear of a ghoul,
Let us enjoy the Spirit of Yule.
As the last embers glimmer their glow,
In the warmth of the hearth, let the blessings flow.
The gifts that we give and the dreams that we share,
Are the true lights of the season, because we care.
[CHORUS]
Light up the log, let it burn bright,
Call back the sun on this sacred night.
Samhain is gone, no fear of a ghoul,
Let us enjoy the Spirit of Yule.
So here in the circle, with hands joined as one,
We welcome the winter, the return of the sun.
Through the turning of ages, this promise holds true:
With the Spirit of Yule, the light will come through.
