Augustine se réveilla frigorifiée au pied du menhir mais pleine d’espoir suite à son songe, elle suivit la route vers la chapelle Sainte-Christine. A la croisée des chemins, elle rencontra la femme d’un meunier qui se trouvait devant son moulin. Affamée, elle lui demanda l’aumône. La femme, craintive devant l’aspect négligé de la jeune fille, et ne voulant surtout pas faire entrer la peste chez elle, mentit, et lui dit qu’elle n’avait plus rien à manger… alors que trois beaux pains venaient de sortir du four. Augustine, avant de reprendre son chemin lui dit :
- Tu as raison, tu n’as plus rien à manger à présent.
Quand la meunière rentra à l’intérieur du moulin, ses trois pains s’étaient transformés en trois galets.
