"Looking Back at the Screen of MASAAN"
The language of the heart always looks for parallel entities and each heart consists of a language with unique features. These unique features determine the selection of hearts, which need to be tailored together. In the world, thousands of hearts use their language to conquer different sentiments, personalities, dimensions, and parameters. Once I met Deepak's language of heart which goes parallel with Shalu's. I badly wanted them to be together, sharing their uniqueness despite all the social obstacles. Deepak and Shalu entered a train box, where Devi got into, but to a different box, through the same platform called "LOVE".
When a heart speaks, it only understands and accepts togetherness, kindness, sentiments of sharing and caring, and protection, not races, casts, religion, social status, or any other earthly standard predetermined norms. As Deepak is sharing his untouched and unpolluted feelings for Shalu, the spectators are reminded of their first engagement with another language of the heart at the platform of so-called "LOVE". The revelation of bounded norms to unbounded Deepak and Shalu is revealed through the balloons they throw to the sky, where there are no limitations.
In contrast, Devi is not already a caged bird. Her character and the qualities of straightforwardness that have embossed are clear evidence of her thoughts. Even in a society, where life is judgmental, her actions and deeds prove her unconventional personality. She always believes that 'when a city is small, the thinking pattern of the people is also narrow'. The act of sexual engagement before marriage opens its doors to the garden of bitter berry, where Devi and her father, Vidyadar tend forcibly to taste. They fail to control the social enforcement towards the uncontrollable pressure and displeasing social relationships.
Coming back to Deepak, Varanasi is the place, where Deepak comes out with the tag of Dom community, whose family works in the cremation of Ghats by burning funeral pyres. Even though he has been tested so many times in his life, because of his identity, his studies as a Civil Engineer made him exposed to unbanned, highly respectful humans such as Shalu, who carries her identity from birth unconsciously. The unexpected death of Shalu and the burning of the heart of Deepak's very first engagement is indeed unbearable. Throwing the ring of Shalu to the river, makes Deepak get rid of the misery caused by the death. The same ring carried out all the burden and suffering of a pure engagement involved in dragging out all the miseries of Devi's life.
As both parties end their intimate journey with similar circumstances, Devi and Deepak get into the same boat without their soulmates, who made their lives beautiful and gave them hope. Finally, their decision to move on without their parallel entities is a highlighted reality of uncontrollable social parameters against THE LANGUAGE OF HEART.
