Urgande erre aux bois dédorés

Entre les troncs creux des vieux chênes

Où les écureuils ont serré,

Contre les famines prochaines,

Châtaignes, glands, noisettes, faines.

 

Il n'est que le lièvre et la draine

Pour dire où dort, dans quel fourré,

Sur quel lit de fougères naines,

Urgande.

 

Heureux qui près d'une fontaine,

Dans une lande, au bord d'un pré,

Aperçoit ses boucles châtaines !

En toute amante, serve ou reine,

Il verra, d'orgueil enivré,

Urgande.
