''How's the JOSH?''

( Vicky Kushal as Vihaan Singh Shergill)

Patriotism is a covert sentiment, which appears in crisis but has fossilized until death. The military is the most highlighted brand ambassador of jingoism, which leads people to constantly and consistently think about their motherland. URI reaches peoples' hearts with a bitter truth while printing the soldier's song and hopeful eyes when he got shot at Manipur. It reveals the ultimate reality of most of the soldiers' lives. Major Vihaan Singh Shergill is the leading personality, who stirs the inner sense of his troops while embossing ample dedication to the country, where everyone sees the parallel positioning of his mother and motherland in his heart. His family background and his achievements are the source of strength, which help him to be delighted on the battlefield. He is the forerunner of the movie.

The first chapter ' The Seven Sisters ' of the movie comes to an end with Vihaan's entrance to the screen and shifts to the second chapter called ' An unsettling Peace'. Major Karan's daughter; Vihaan's niece's expectation to become an army officer or the first Female General, depicts us that despite the gender and age, families of army members are also in high spirits to serve the country. Some of us only see the suffering through the greenery uniforms but these families have the utmost willingness to be a part of others happiness. This reminds me of a picture, which says ' When you go home, tell them of us, for your tomorrow, we gave our today'. and it is a piece of expectation of a soldier and there are obviously more.

Vihaan holds real spirit on the battlefield and his colleagues are no more blessed enough to have him around them because he is the mom's son. Simultaneously, being a super inspirational figure to us, who cares so much about the mother's sickness, he quit the bomb-blasting field and settled himself in Integrated Defense Staff Headquarters in New Delhi. Two women appear around him, making the audience curious about Vihaan's feelings. Pallavi Sharma, an intelligent officer, who pretends to be a nurse, and Seerat Kaur, an officer of the Air Force, whose case is under investigation touch different nerves of Army life of Vihaan's.

'Bleed in India With a Thousand Cuts' is the third chapter, which brings out the cause of the surgical strike. Indian army camp at Uri became the trump of enemies. Blood and dead bodies become the symbols of anger, which starts to boil Vihaan's blood. Demise of his brother-in-law. and the war cry makes the audience a part of the peak of the screenplay. Re-entrance of Vihaan to the battlefield was affirmed through the only solution to counterattack the terrorists, the so-called 'Surgical Strike'. The involvement of all defense officers with the prime minister creates a real sense of subtle investigation before the operation. The positioning of two women in the film equilibrates the gender manifestation. Operational strategies are naked in the fourth chapter, called ' New India, ' as mentioned above. Vihaan presents every small detail of the surgical strike in the final chapter before playing it with real army morals. Teams of Bravo, Charlie, and Delta leave for their respective forward bases while reverberating victories heart beats. Conclusive minutes start at the end of the film, which gives us the real mode of combat zone. The victory well- wished by us, flourished in the end.

The grand arrival of the troops again to the motherland leaves us a hope of security in our lives. Pilot Seerat opened the door of the helicopter with an unrestricted heart to feel the new air. Vihaan's smile and eying towards Pallavi give us the chance to tailor the future story between them. This story is a second chance for us to think about the things we have done for our country and at the same time it reveals the only perception of a soldier as a whole; that is 'Balidaan Param Dharma' (Ultimate Dharma is sacrifice).
