Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, publishes on LinkedIn on April 25, 2022  an essay about the regulation of digital technology

After having read the essay by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, which you can read here in its entirety, I published on LinkedIn on April 25, 2022 an essay that addresses his announcement personally and in full. Please find below my response in its entirety:

Mr. President, as President of Panodyssey, the new social network in France dedicated to writing, I wish to congratulate you for implementing the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act.

I have the honor to announce that the start-up Panodyssey is in the process of creating a new European digital technology standard thanks to the financial support of the European Commission and its keen interest in our activities during the past three years.

Panodyssey announces the launch of a European Consortium that includes the media and cultural and creative agents from five countries (and five languages) to reconcile ethical considerations with the digital world, thus renewing public interest in a digital domain that protects, respects and valorizes cultural production. This consortium is called CREA: Creative Room European Alliance.

Information, notably writing in culture and education, are priorities for Europe as well as for CREA.

Panodyssey is the first social network dedicated to writing in all creative domains that:

• Protects and valorizes the intellectual property of its authors by giving them back 77% of the proceeds of their writing
• Verifies the identity of its authors while also allowing them the choice of using their own names or a pseudonym. This policy aims to eliminate false identities of both authors and viewers (bots, trolls, etc)
• Protects its contributors from aggressive or hateful harassment
• Respects the private lives of its contributors by not collecting private data (for advertising or any other purposes) without their consent
• Assures total and instant transparency on 100% of the financial transactions obtained from or given to contributors and to Panodyssey
• Offers its contributors the opportunity to create a personalized algorithm rather than one that is externally imposed
• Protects minors under the age of 15 by requiring parental consent
• Operates without ads, on a model of transparency funded via subscriptions and donations. It is our belief that financial independence is key for the transparency and sovereignty of European values

 Mr. President, we are at your disposal to present our vision and achievements. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss with you the role of cultural platforms in defending our sovereignty and our democratic values in an international context that is becoming more and more challenging—and hostile--to freedom and democracy.

A solution exists! It is European and open to new partners to encourage the rapid development of a new domain without digital pollution that will serve millions of our fellow Europeans.
