Sloane Murphy is the author of the international bestselling series, The Immortal Chronicles, as well as a range of other paranormal and contemporary romance. Sloane lives in Peterborough, England, with her husband & fur baby and over the years, she has developed an unhealthy appreciation for cheesy YA Films, cupcakes and bad pop music. She adores fairy tales, ballet and all things supernatural, drinks far too much coffee, and watches an ungodly amount of Netflix. When she's not busy writing, she can be found exploring the world with her husband and chocolate Labrador.

Résumé :

Je tiens à remercier les éditions Juno Publishing et le site Netgalley pour m'avoir permis de lire ce livre qui est le premier de la série : "Les chroniques immortelles"
Je trouve la couverture de ce livre magnifique.
On apprend que six cent ans auparavant il y à eu une épidémie et que la population humaine vie depuis aux côtés des Faes et des vampires. Tout cela pour empêcher le rois des démons de déclencher une deuxième des ténèbres.
On y retrouve Adelaide qui rêve de faire parti de la garde rouge. Et aucune femme de l'académie n'a rejoint cette garde. Elle va devoir se battre contre le mal et essayer de comprendre pourquoi elle est différente des autres. Entre trahison, peur en passant par la colère elle va tenter de tout remettre en place. Va t'elle avoir l'aide de Xander Bane devoir affronter le démon seule?
Un livre lu d'une traite tellement j'ai accroché à l'histoire si émouvante à certains passages, captivante, addictive, remplie de suspens et de rebondissements avec des personnages très attachants. Hâte de lire le suivant.

I think the cover of this book is beautiful.
We learn that six hundred years ago there was an epidemic and that the human population has since lived alongside the Fae and vampires. All this to prevent the king of the demons from unleashing a second of darkness.
We find Adelaide who dreams of being part of the Red Guard. And no woman from the academy has joined this guard. She will have to fight against evil and try to understand why she is different from the others. Between betrayal, fear and anger, she will try to put everything back in place. Will she have the help of Xander Bane to face the demon alone?
A book read in one go, so much so that I have hung on to the story, which is so moving at certain passages, captivating, addictive, full of suspense and twists and turns with very endearing characters. Can't wait to read the next one.
