A few words about the author :
Ottilie Weber grew up in Wall, New Jersey, not far from the beach. She always has a book in her hands or nearby, despite her dyslexia. She graduated from The College of New Jersey, earning a degree in History Secondary Education and did a Special Education program at Georgian Court University. Once a Jersey Girl, Ottilie now resides in Virginia and teaches. Ottilie has a passion for writing, where she is always ready to take on the next project. Her family and close friends are there to help her take on the bumps or potholes in the road.

Ottilie Weber a grandi dans Wall, New Jersey, non loin de la plage. Elle a toujours un livre dans ses mains ou à proximité, en dépit de sa dyslexie. Elle est diplômée du Collège du New Jersey, a obtenu un diplôme en histoire de l'enseignement secondaire. Ottilie a une passion pour l'écriture, où elle est prête à prendre sur le prochain projet. Summary :
When so much is lost how does one to have the strength to move on? At seventeen Lauren was prepared for yet another year of school. Then asteroids hit, killing all of those she knew except for a few other teens from her neighborhood. Joining forces with her classmate Aaron, they work together on the journey in the hopes of finding more people that are alive. On the way, threats of starvation, illness, and freezing to death don’t compare to the danger of Dean Manson. Manson is an ex-con out for revenge against Aaron. With so much working against them these teens fight for everything even if it means denying their feelings just for the chance to see a new day.

Quand tant de choses sont perdues, comment peut-on avoir la force d'aller de l'avant ? À dix-sept ans, Lauren était prête pour une nouvelle année d'école. Puis des astéroïdes ont frappé, tuant tous ceux qu'elle connaissait, à l'exception de quelques autres adolescents de son quartier. Unissant leurs forces à celles de son camarade de classe Aaron, ils entreprennent ensemble le voyage dans l'espoir de trouver d'autres personnes en vie. En chemin, les menaces de famine, de maladie et de mort par le froid ne sont pas comparables au danger que représente Dean Manson. Manson est un ancien détenu qui veut se venger d'Aaron. Avec tant de choses contre eux, ces adolescents se battent pour tout, même s'ils doivent nier leurs sentiments pour avoir une chance de voir un nouveau jour.

Depuis le temps que je voulais lire ce livre, voilà qui est fait, j'adore tellement sa plume que son nouveau livre me tenterais bien à lire.
On y retrouve la jeune adolescente Lauren qui du haut de ses dix-sept ans s’apprête pour une nouvelle année d'école sauf qu'une pluie d'astéroïdes frappe la terre, elle perd quasi tout les gens qu'elle connaissait, à l'exception près des ado de son quartier ont survécu. Ils vont s'unir pour tenter de trouver des rescapés et pendant ce périple la famine, les maladies et les morts seront au rendez-vous et un ancien détenu voudra se venger. Ces adolescents vont devoir se battre pour un renouveau un jour.
Un livre lu d'une traite tellement j'adore la plume de l'auteure et j'ai accroché à l'histoire si prenante, captivante, addictive, remplie d'intrigues de suspens et de rebondissements avec des personnages très attachants.

I've been wanting to read this book for so long, and now I have. I love her writing so much that I'm tempted to read her new book.
We find the young teenager Lauren who, at the age of seventeen, is getting ready for a new school year except that an asteroid shower hits the earth, she loses almost everyone she knew, except for the teenagers in her neighborhood who survived. They will unite to try to find the survivors and during this journey, famine, disease and death will be the order of the day and an ex-convict will seek revenge. These teenagers will have to fight for a revival one day.
A book read in one sitting so much I love the author's writing and I was hooked on the story so gripping, captivating, addictive, full of intrigue, suspense and twists and turns with very endearing characters.
